What Do I Do When I Get There?
At Geyer Road Baptist Church, we welcome all of our guests to come just as you are. When you arrive on our parking lot, feel free to park in one of the parking spots labeled specially for guests near our entrance.
When you walk through the door, you’ll get a warm welcome from one of our greeters. Feel free to grab some coffee and a treat at the Welcome Counter and pick up some information about our church as well as a special gift just for you!
Our Sanctuary is on the main floor directly to the right of our main entrance. Our Main Office, Senior Adult Sunday School classrooms, and Nursery are also on the main floor. The nursery provides child care for children from birth to preschool during Sunday School and the morning Worship Service. The lower level consists of our Fellowship Hall where we enjoy various church fellowships. The upper level has our Adult Bible Study classrooms, Library, Children’s classrooms, and our Youth Department.
If you are joining us for Sunday School, make sure to be there by 9:30 am!
What’s Your Service Like?
Our worship services are focused on the worshiping the Lord and hearing His Word.
Our worship service begins at 10:45 am with Pastor Ed Plants announcing upcoming events. That is followed by Gina Bailey and the praise team leading us in our Call to Worship. After our Opening Prayer, we read a Scripture aloud as a congregation. Gina then leads us in some more songs of worship. Pastor Ed follows that by calling the children (K-5) up near the altar for his weekly Children’s Sermon. We then celebrate the Lord by giving our tithes and offerings and have a special time of music. Pastor Ed then dismisses the children (K-5) to Children’s Church in the Fellowship Hall before beginning his sermon. Following his sermon, we have a period of time to respond to God’s calling before our Closing Prayer.
Our style of music is generally traditional. We lift up the Lord with many hymns, but we also incorporate plenty of modern songs. We have a pianist, bassist, guitarist, percussionist, and singers. We believe there are many ways to honor the Lord in song!
What Should I Wear?
As long as you’re wearing something, we’re happy!
Pastor Ed preaches in a full suit and tie, and many members follow suit in their formal wear. But, we have plenty of members who enter in business casual attire such as a dress shirt and khakis. Some come in jeans. Some wear dress shoes, others wear sneakers. We’ve even been known to spot a kilt in the congregation!
We pray you will take time this Sunday to delight us with your presence and worship the Lord with us!
