Lord, Teach Us to Pray…Scripture

Lord, Teach Us to Pray…Scripture

Does your prayer life become routine? Does it seem like you say the same words to God time after time? How can we stay fresh and revitalized in our devotional time and grow closer to God? Jesus gave four helpful emphases within the Lord’s Prayer that we can apply in praying Scripture, so we grow closer to God and gain greater clarity in understanding what He wants us to do.

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

He said to them, “When you pray, say:

“‘Father,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.
And lead us not into temptation.’”

Luke 11:1-4
