From birth to 5th grade, the children at GRBC are engaged and active! AWANA meets on Sunday nights during the school year. During the summer, AWANA takes a break, but we always find new adventures to undertake. Throughout the year there are special events to keep the kids active and engaged with each other through their growing faith. While the older children stay in the Sunday services, the young ones go to children’s church. Geyer Road Baptist Church is a great place to be a kid!
Nursery
Don’t feel like you can’t come worship the Lord with others because your dear little one will be a disruption. Our fantastic nursery volunteers will be happy to watch them during Sunday School and the Morning Service. Children up to preschool can have fun in the Bear Room, the Balloon Room, or the Preschool Room while they grow and learn.
Does your little one hate being out of your sight? No worries! Our cry room is the perfect place for you two to bond while watching the service on our flatscreen display so you don’t miss a thing.
Children’s Church
Church doesn’t have to be boring! We have lots of fun ready for kids during the Morning Service. Not only do our kids get a special Children’s Sermon just for them each week, when the regular sermon begins, they are dismissed to our Children’s Church. There, kids will get to enjoy crafts and coloring, a snack, and a great lesson. All of our kids have a great time with our Children’s Church leaders and helpers.
AWANA
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15. AWANA clubs teach the gospel of Christ to children from preschool through high school. Throughout the program, children are rewarded for memorizing Bible verses and completing character building activities. Younger children learn through games, crafts, and puppets, which are wonderful learning tools for this age. As they grow, children are introduced to small group interaction, community outreach, apologetics, and life application of the gospel. Our AWANA program goes through 5th grade before kids graduate into the youth group.
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Special Events
Don’t forget all of the great time your kids can have with the special events our Children’s Ministry creates throughout the year.
In the summer, we have Vacation Bible School where kids can spend an entire week learning the gospel, making crafts, playing games, singing songs, and seeing all the great things God has in store for them. The summer also has our annual Wacky Water Wednesday. Kids can come in the swimgear and cool down with slides, pools, and snacks.
In the fall, kids can dress up for the Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat. After earning plenty of candy playing games in the Fellowship Hall, kids can move about the parking lot from car to car getting more treats for reciting Bible verses.
